Early Childhood Special Education: Ages 3-5

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) services in Jackson County support children ages 3-5 with developmental delays or disabilities. Our goal is to help children develop the skills they need to succeed in preschool and prepare for kindergarten.

Our Model

We provide a range of specialized services to meet each child’s individual needs, including:

  • Support in community preschool or daycare settings, serving all of Jackson County to ensure children can learn and grow alongside their peers.
  • Speech groups, focusing on developing communication and social skills.
  • ECSE intervention classrooms, conveniently located in Medford, White City, and Sams Valley to provide ease of transportation and access to local resources.
  • Home visiting services, offering individualized strategies in the comfort of your home.

Each child has access to a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including early childhood special educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, autism specialists, and service coordinators, regardless of the services outlined on their plan. This collaborative team ensures that every child’s unique needs are addressed.

Each family is assigned a service coordinator, who serves as the central point of contact for your child’s service plan. Service coordinators help families navigate available resources, communicate with team members, and ensure services are delivered effectively and seamlessly.

At Jackson County ECSE, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible support for children and families, helping every child thrive in their community and beyond.

Parent Testimonial

We were so grateful to our SLP, for her work with our son on his articulation skills. She prepped home practice for him every week and communicated about his progress after each session. He started making quick progress after working with her combined with home practice. Very grateful to her.

The team communicated well with each other and my family. We came up with great plans and goals, and they gave us two great choices. They listened to my family’s concerns and helped us make a good choice. We are excited to transition without fear. We want to thank everyone that has helped. Keep up the hard work!
