Board of Directors

Douglas ESD is governed by a seven-member elected Board of Directors who serve 4-year terms. Five members are elected from zones and two are elected to at-large positions. Directors are not compensated for their services.

Board Goals

Goal 1: Purpose of ESDs
Douglas ESD will provide leadership and increased capacity in early learning, behavioral intervention, career technical education, K12, post-secondary education, and to support the region in meeting the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) goals.
 
Goal 2: Local Service Plan
Douglas ESD will support the shared goals of district superintendents, expand service offerings through the Local Service Plan to meet those goals, and continue to provide services to improve school district efficiencies.
 
Goal 3: Fostering a Culture of Belonging

The Douglas ESD strives to foster a culture of belonging and inclusion, ensuring that every person is supported by promoting equitable access to educational resources, we empower individuals to reach their highest aspirations. Through intentional action, we encourage inclusion and belonging, barriers are removed, and all voices are heard—advancing a vision where every individual can thrive and succeed.

 
Goal 4: Expansion & Entrepreneurial
Douglas ESD will be a leader in Douglas County and beyond for contracts and initiatives as well as partnerships relating to student learning, wellbeing, and school district support.
 
Goal 5: Communication
Douglas ESD will increase visibility and knowledge of services available throughout the broader regional community.
