Douglas County EI/ECSE

The Early Intervention Program provides services to children with disabilities from birth up to three years of age throughout Douglas County.

The Early Childhood Special Education Program provides services to children with disabilities from ages three to kindergarten age throughout Douglas County.

Together, these programs operate under the acronym EI/ECSE.

The EI/ECSE programs are administered through the Douglas Education Service District.  The ESD employs teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and mainstream specialist to provide a full range of services to these children.  ESD staff provide these services by work closely with other local agencies, including Southern Oregon Regional Program, UCAN/Head Start, physicians, preschool programs, school districts and public health organizations.
