Cottage Grove clinic offers free dental services to Drain students

In an era where a free lunch often comes with a sales pitch or strings attached, a free dental appointment can seem unbelievable.

However, 21 North Douglas students have had a combined total of 80 free dental appointments so far this school year that have ranged from general checkups to crowns, pulled teeth and root canals.

Early Learning Partners: Apply for the next round of book grants by April 10

Books build brains, and we're ready to help our early learning partners get more books to families.

The South-Central Oregon Early Learning Hub has opened its second round of book distribution grants. This is an Oregon Department of Education Early Literacy Grant, and our hub was tasked with distributing the grant in books to agencies serving children and families with children ages 0 to 6.

Special education teachers and administrators from Douglas, Coos and Curry are invited to gather on Monday, March 16 to learn and share tips on how they are preparing students for successful transitions from school into integrated employment. This professional development conference is free to educators.

Early Childhood Matters: Hub brings ECE expert to free, day-long training; registration now open

Early Childhood Matters! Our South Central Oregon Early Learning Hub is bringing Karen Ponder, early childhood consultant, to Douglas County to offer a full day training for early learning educators and community partners in Douglas, Klamath & Lake counties. Training will focus on kindergarten readiness, community collaboration and early childhood outcomes.
